Welcome to Broxfield Farm.
Broxfield Farm is situated about 3 miles North of Alnwick
in Northumberland, UK. The farm extends to 195 ha, of which 162 ha are
under arable production. The remainder is ridge and furrow permanent pasture
grassland which is grazed by suckler cows and their calves. The farm is
rented from the Duke of Northumberland by Mr D. R. Thompson, who farms
with his father Mr J. W. Thompson. The Thompson family have farmed at
Broxfield since the 1820's. A further 72 ha is rented on a farm business
tenancy at Heckley Fence Farm. Both units have full organic status.
Mr Thompson is pleased to invite school groups to Broxfield
to take advantage of the wide range of teaching resources and stimulating
learning experiences that the farm provides. Broxfield can cater for
pupils studying a wide range of subjects giving both efficient and effective
use of school time.
